A common thread of all RIMCO’s special purpose buildings, is the combination of facilities, where manufacturing meets retail. A great example is the Billabong Factory & Retail Outlet at Burleigh, Queensland. Designed specifically so the themed retail centre resembled a Samoan hut, with rammed earth walls and thatched roof, this design distracting from the large factory behind the retail area.
Similarly, Richie Bros. Auction facility contains large machinery for public sale and display as well as a refurbishment and painting facility integrating three separate buildings, (with three different functions) on the one site.
