Building Types

RIMCO's clients appreciate the benefits of the company's vast knowledge in the design and fabrication of industrial related buildings.
Our automated design and drafting program has created unlimited design capabilities in our standard frame profiles. Some of the most commonly used frames and building products are as follows:

Structural Steel Frame Types

Rigid Frame (RF)
The clear, unobstructed working space that the Rigid Frame system provides makes it ideal for many commercial and recreational applications. The wide, column-free environment permits the complete utilisation of the interior floor space. Recreational rooms, aircraft hangars, and warehouses are often designed as rigid frame systems due to the interference or inconvenience of interior columns.

Up to 70 metres wide. Rigid frame design with tapered column and tapered rafter.

Rigid Frame Multi-span (RF-1)
The Rigid Frame Multi-span system is ideal in situations when a vast area of floor space is necessary. The flexibility of the design allows it to be utilized for any industrial or warehouse purpose.

Up to 400 metres wide. Tapered Beam rigid frame with straight columns.

Tapered Beam (TB)
Tapered Beam systems are utilised when a clear interior space up to 30m wide is needed. The column-free interior allows the total amount of floor space to be put to use. This design is often in small offices or other commercial applications.

Up to 30 metres wide. Tapered beam rigid frame with straight columns.

Lean-To Beam (LT)
Selecting a Lean-to system is a quick and economical way to expand to a building. More space can be added to the building without interrupting the internal operations. This easy method of expansion makes the lean-to system ideal for additional storage and office buildings.

Up to 40 metres wide. Ideal for use with pre-cast concrete walls or existing supporting structures.

Single Slope (SS)
The Single Slope system is ideal where it is required that one side of the building be considerably higher than the other. An example would be aircraft hanger or large equipment  storage building when a large opening is required.

Up to 40 metres wide. Single Slope rigid frame with tapered rafter and columns.

Rigid Frame (Saw Tooth)
For structures requiring additional ventilation due to excessive heat but still natural light, the Saw Tooth system is ideal. Allowing hot air to naturally flow out of the building and maximising the intake of natural light will reduce ongoing ventilation and lighting costs dramatically. This structure is ideal for tropical and arid climates.

Up to 40 metres wide. Tapered columns and rafters with added lengths.
